3-Day Cappadocia Tour from Side

The 1st day

The tour to Cappadocia begins with travelling from a hotel to Seydisehir, where all participants are waiting for breakfast. After that there will be acquaintance with the Museum of Mevlana in Konya, also called the House of Dervishes, where you can see:

• Dervish sarcophagi;

The 2nd day

This part of the tour begins early in the morning with a hot-air balloon flight, which gives you great views, especially in clear weather. After breakfast at the hotel, tourists will visit the Fantasy Valley (Dervent). There are many rocky formations that are similar in shape to various animals, people and objects. The landscape is bizarre and unique.

The next stop is Pashabag. This place is also called the Valley of the Monks because of cells in stone pillars that look like mushrooms. One of them belonged to Saint Simeon, after whom a nearby church is named.

Afterwards, a visit to Chavushin village is planned. The cliff houses abandoned in the middle of the last century and the temple of John the Baptist, founded in the 5th century, are of great interest to tourists.

The next peculiarities of the tour are:

• acquaintance with the pottery town of Avanos;
• a pottery workshop;
• buffet lunch;
• The Valley of Love. The rocks of original form are a local attraction;
• The Goreme Museum;

Göreme is an open-air museum, a national park that occupies 30,000 hectares. It attracts with its rock formations, cave churches and monasteries of the 9th century with unique paintings and frescoes.

After a buffet dinner, the busy day is pleasantly concluded with a show-program «Night in Cappadocia», where you can get acquainted with Anatolian folklore.

The 3rd day

The last day can be started by meeting the dawn if you wish and enjoying the flight on a hot air balloon. It is not included in the price of the tour.

After a buffet breakfast, the program includes:

• The panorama of Üç Güzeller – stone pillars, called the Three Beauties, which symbolize the goddesses Athena, Hera and Aphrodite;
• Panorama of Ortahisar (Middle Fortress), part of the stone city;
• Anatolian stone center.

The final part of the tour is the ancient caravanserai «Oresin-Khan». Along the road to this site there is the Valley of Pigeons. During the stop with a panoramic view on this place, tourists will see a cluster of rocks with passages and windows for birds. After lunch in Konya with the national menu there is a return trip to hotels.
